15.45 MNOK in RCN funding

Written on januar 05 2026

We are very pleased to announce that Nicoustic has been awarded NOK 15.45 million in research funding from the Research Council of Norway.

This marks Nicoustic’s second IPN project, following our first award in 2022. We are proud to see our continued R&D progress and results recognized, and we greatly appreciate the ongoing trust placed in us by the Research Council of Norway.

The funding will support the final stages of R&D across ultrasound hardware, software, and algorithms, culminating in pilot deployments of our non-intrusive level measurement technology on three offshore installations in Norway, together with our operator partners.

This work will be carried out in close collaboration with our R&D partners SINTEF and Fraunhofer IKTS.

Nicoustic’s non-intrusive level measurement technology has the potential to change how level is measured in process vessels—not only in the petroleum industry, but across a wide range of process industries. By eliminating the need for intrusive instrumentation, our solution reduces costly turnarounds and production interruptions for installation and maintenance, while enabling improved level measurement in applications where this was previously not possible.

Ultimately, this contributes to safer, more efficient, and more reliable production with lower emissions.
