Fantastic time in Aberdeen at the Sand Management Network (SMN) Euroforum! The days were filled with discussions, presentations and experience exchange within sand/solids control, measurement and management. One special thing with this arena, created by the Robert Gordon University more than 20 years ago, is that it unites different disciplines – reservoir, downhole and facilities. We can literally follow a sand grain from when it is formed in the reservoar, through its journey inside the wellbore and the completion string and towards the end of its journey topsides. Having all this knowledge in one room creates great forum for knowledge sharing.
Big thanks to the organizers Gbenga Oluyemi and Katrina Dunbar with her team. And, of course, all the presenters.
Our CEO Dmitri Gorski had the honor of co-chairing the event together with a number of experts in the field. He also gave a talk on how our sensors installed on Snorre A will help monitoring the sand level in the first stage separator.
