Joint Industry Project

Written on februar 06 2024

We are proud to announce that Nicoustic has signed a Joint Industry Project (JIP) collaboration agreement with ConocoPhillips Skandinavia AS, Equinor ASA and OKEA ASA. The JIP is aimed at further developing the Nicoustic technology for non-intrusive process vessel level measurement.

The development project consists of several work packages with different goals where both hardware and software are in focus. The duration of the JIP is three years. Fraunhofer IKTS (Dresden) and SINTEF Multiphase Flow Laboratory (Trondheim) are research partners. The Research Council of Norway and Innovation Norway have provided funding for some of the research packages in the JIP.

Initiation of the JIP demonstrates support and interest from the industry to advance non-intrusive level measurement technology. Installing level sensors on the outside of a process vessel offers opportunities to significantly reduce installation and maintenance costs in various process industry applications, since everything can be performed with vessel in normal operation and no turnaround is required.

Late participants are welcome to join the JIP for a limited period of time from its start. For more information, please contact Dmitri Gorski, CEO of Nicoustic at dmitri@nicoustic.com or +47 41847928.
